The small city of Orting in western Washington has just under 7,000 residents. It is located south of Bonney Lake and southeast of Tacoma in Pierce County. Orting is just 30 miles west of Mount Rainier and is known as the “small town” with a “big view”.

Orting is known for the annual Daffodil Parade, its salmon hatchery and great fishing, and the 20-mile Foothills Trail created out of the old railroad. The trail and many city parks offer great views of Rainier and attract residents fond of a more rural lifestyle; as many people work in Seattle or Tacoma and drive home to Orting, the average commute is about 39 minutes. Homes for sale in Orting are fairly new and are more likely to have larger yards and lot sizes than many areas of Pierce County.
