Steilacoom

Steilacoom is located on the Puget Sound in Pierce County, just south of Tacoma and University Place, west of Lakewood, and north of DuPont. In the mid-1850's, Steilacoom became the first incorporated town in the territory of Washington; today, the town has a population of about 6,000. Homes for sale in Steilacoom are about the same age as the state and national averages. There are a dozen public parks, some with beaches, in town for residents to enjoy and thanks to the hilly landscape, many homes also have waterfront views.

This is the location of the ferry to Anderson Island, a scenic and quaint island village just off the coast. The major cities of Tacoma and Seattle are close by, and the Pacific Northwest's largest military base, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), is just under 10 miles away.
